- Why Antalya, and not a bigger city?
- Because the operation is one day — recovery is one or two weeks, and where you spend them matters. Antalya gives that week quiet mornings, a warm sea and the sound of waves instead of traffic; the airport is fifteen minutes from the clinic, and your hotel is by the water. The surgical standard is the same European Board standard you would look for anywhere — the difference is the week around it. And with direct flights from most European cities, it is easier to reach than most metropolises, not harder.
- Is it safe to have plastic surgery in Turkey?
- Safety is never about a country — it is about the specific surgeon and the specific facility. The checks European and UK guidance recommend for surgery abroad are the same ones we would recommend: confirm board certification, confirm the practice is authorised by the Ministry of Health for international patients, and confirm where the operation actually takes place. Dr. Meral is an EBOPRAS (European Board) certified plastic surgeon, the practice holds Ministry of Health International Health Tourism Authorization ST-4695, and surgery is performed in an accredited hospital operating theatre — never in an office. Ask us for any of this in writing; you should ask every clinic the same.
- Who will actually perform my surgery?
- Dr. Mert Meral, personally — from the consultation, through the operation, to every follow-up review. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS), trained at Karadeniz Technical University, and a member of the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons. You will have met him and agreed the plan together before any surgery is scheduled.
- How long would I need to stay in Antalya?
- Typically between two nights and two weeks, depending on the procedure — each treatment page lists its usual range. The honest answer is that your surgeon decides, not a brochure: Dr. Meral confirms your dates at consultation and will not clear you to fly until your healing allows it.
- What about aftercare once I am back home?
- You go home with written aftercare instructions and a direct WhatsApp line to the clinic that does not expire. Follow-up reviews continue remotely by photo and video call at intervals Dr. Meral sets for your case. If anything concerns you between reviews, you contact us first — and in an emergency you should always seek local medical care immediately, then involve us. Complications and revision questions are assessed individually and answered honestly; no surgeon should promise you otherwise.
- How do I get to Antalya?
- Antalya has direct flights from London, Manchester, Frankfurt, Vienna, Zurich, Amsterdam, Warsaw and most European hubs — usually around three hours from Central Europe, four and a half from the UK. We arrange your airport transfer and hotel; you arrange only the flight. Details are confirmed when your dates are set.
- Is cosmetic surgery right for me at all?
- Sometimes the answer is no, and we will say so. Surgery is performed only on adults aged 18 or over, after an honest screening of anatomy, health and expectations — every treatment page here includes a "this is not for you if" list for that reason. A consultation that ends in "not yet" or "not this procedure" is a good consultation. Take your time; this decision should never be rushed or bought on offer.
